Anti-virus and spyware protection

There are simply too many serious threats in e-mail, advertising, "free" software, and malicious web sites to allow your computer to remain unprotected. If you're on a budget you can still reduce the risk of virus attacks, relentless pop-up advertising, and programs spying on your computer activities.

  • ZoneAlarm Firewall: A computer firewall helps block intrusions from hackers and their bac programs, known as malware. ZoneAlarm will also give you complete control over programs installed on your PC and how they use your internet connection.

  • AVG Antivirus: AVG Free is available free-of-charge to home users for the life of the product.

  • avast!: avast! Home Edition is now free of charge for HOME users for NON-COMMERCIAL use.

  • ClamWin: ClamWin Free Antivirus uses the GNU General Public License by the Free Software Foundation and is free (as in freedom) software.

  • Lavasoft Ad-Aware: Ad-Aware is designed to provide advanced protection from known Data-mining, aggressive advertising, Parasites, Scumware, selected traditional Trojans, Dialers, Malware, Browser hijackers, and tracking components.
